How we test voucher codes

A voucher code is only useful if it works. Here’s what each label on our site means and how we decide.

Where codes come from

Most codes come from shops through the affiliate networks they use, and we update them several times a day. Our community posts deals and codes too, and some codes are exclusives we agree directly with shops.

“Tested by us”

A member of our team has added items to a basket on the shop’s website, entered the code at the checkout and recorded whether the discount applied, with the date and their name. We show “Tested by us” for 14 days after a successful test. You can see who tested it and when under “Details and terms”.

We test the most used codes first, every new exclusive, and any code shoppers say has stopped working.

Success rate

After you use a code we ask, “Did it work?”. The success rate is the share of “yes” answers over the last 30 days. We only show it once at least 3 people have answered, and each person counts once a day per code.

“Used today” and “Last worked”

“Used today” counts how many times the code was revealed or the deal opened today (we leave out search engine robots). “Last worked” is the most recent date that either our team or a shopper confirmed it.

When codes stop working

Codes that pass their end date move to “Recently expired” and drop off after 90 days. If shoppers report a code failing again and again, it’s flagged for our team to test, and taken down if it’s dead.

What we can’t promise

Shops can change or withdraw a code at any time, and many have conditions (a minimum spend, new customers only, full-price items only). Always read the terms under each code.
